Chemistry tutor teaches levels from basic up to advanced, to school and university students

With chemistry, I know some people find it hard, so I check the student(s) to see how they feel. Chemistry can be made interesting, by guiding the students away from trying to memorize things into understanding the reasons why chemistry works the way it does. My students find that with some guidance, and by using more interesting materiel, they stop struggling and find chemistry both interesting and something they want to learn more about.

This is done both by initially finding out what their difficulties are, then by finding things in those areas of chemistry that they find fun. In older lessons a lot had to be memorized, and that was boring. But from my experience, almost nothing just needs to be remembered, and those few things are just the very basic.

Chemistry has its fun, it is just up to the teacher to get in sync with the student, find what the student likes in chemistry (on any other subject) and show that student how any parts he/she finds difficult does have connections with the parts that are liked, and then to guide the student to find those connections and to start learning from those connections.

Now to the methods I use. Depending on if it is online, a computer screen with some basic notes can help, and can just be sent to the student, while we discuss the questions the student has. I listen carefully to the student, and also about his/her feelings about the last lessons, to allow me to improve my methods of teaching - some students who are more extrovert like a more lively lesson, students who are more introvert like a quieter lesson.
