Advert description
Hi! I am a student doing their Masters' in Physiotherapy, and as expected, have been in the field of health care for almost 6 years. I think the human body is an utterly fascinating and marvellous thing to behold, and I would love to share this passion with other students and help them in their studies.
I have a teaching experience for almost 3 years, albeit it was for a different age group. However, I can adapt and make my teaching suit the learning needs of my potential students. My lessons would start with understanding the present level of knowledge a student has and then building a plan from there. I strongly believe that if the foundations of a topic are strong, things become simpler. So I am keep going back to them when I am teaching a concept. I also use a lot of diagrams, flowcharts and tables because it makes the plethora of information more digestible. Incidentally, I am a visual learner myself and more often than not, my students tend to be too, which makes this work even better. I also do regular refreshers in between lessons to ensure that there is retention. I am very open to my students preferred ways of learning, and keep trying to make the best of both worlds.
I am fairly new to the world of tutoring young adults as the age group of my previous cohort was between 8-14. I used to volunteer as a tutor for an NGO for almost 3 years, where I used to cover all subjects. However, I have tutored my friends and batch mates in my course on smaller informal scales, so ideally, I would like to start by tutoring GCSE levels.
I believe that biology is a truly interesting subject for anyone with the time and patience to unravel it, and I would be more than happy to help and support them in this journey. Who knows, maybe my passion will prove contagious after all!
