Goal-oriented, multi-lingual, and highly accomplished Registered Healthcare Professional coupled as an energetic and passionate Academic Lecturer with 8+ years of professional expertise, along with acute business and academic acumen in the following areas:
• Lecturing, Coaching & Mentoring • Medical Research & Clinical Skills
• Medical Content & academic writing • Health & Well-being Counselling
I have just completed MSc in Public Health and Health Promotion at the University of Swansea's School of Medicine, Health, and Life Sciences as an International Excellence Scholar securing distinction and currently occupied in the health sector in the UK. I am currently seeking opportunities for flexible/part-time lecturing as teaching, coaching, and mentoring is my passion.
I am a qualified medical practitioner in Sri Lanka, and for the past eight years I have lectured, mentored, and instructed undergraduate medical students, students pursuing HND and bachelor's degrees in biomedical science, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, and Nursing. Currently, I am a lecturer and module leader for OTHM's Diploma and Postgraduate Diploma in Health and Social Care Management Programme.
My medical knowledge in basic subjects and clinical knowledge of disease conditions will be of great value in lecturing related modules and my excellent communication skills, my exposure to other cultures as a foreign medical graduate, and my research experience, which I hope will be beneficial as your institution is based in the United Kingdom.
As one of my previous career choices, my expertise as a lecturer gives me the confidence to train, mentor, and educate others. I believe I can lead a team based on the leadership skills I have acquired during my school years, undergraduate years, and current position.
My vision extends beyond the treatment of patients, as I am open to opportunities for innovative thought as well as personal advancement and fulfilment.
