I am a native English speaker and I have successfully taught English in Spain to adults and children

Advert description
I am currently a primary school teacher and have been teaching all primary ages and subjects for 13 years. I particularly enjoy teaching Writing, Reading and Grammar. I have found that engaging ways of teaching new vocabulary is essential in English. This allows students to feel more confident, ambitious and of course to have a range of tools at their fingertips to express themselves. Lots of practical experiences are also key when embedding new ideas. During my degree, I studied TEFL for one year which prepared me to teach English in Spain after my degree. I enjoyed teaching English for different purpose. Not only did I teach the RENFE chief executive, but I also taught a group of Spanish dictionary writers and adults who just wanted to learn English for fun. While I was studying for my PGCE at Cambridge University, I also followed some additional courses in how to teach MFL. I feel passionate about getting to know my students and understanding exactly where they are on their learning journey. It is therefore important to build good relationships and understand their goals as this allows me to plan creatively for their success. My lessons are always based on real and relevant skills and are presented in small and achievable steps. I also create a relaxed, non-judgemental and positive environment for learning to encourage enjoyment and risk-taking. Supporting and encouraging students while they face the challenges of learning a new language reduces that challenge and makes it achievable.

My daughter loves Mrs Clifford’s lesson. She finds the lesson is stimulating, fun and opened another new perspective for her. Mrs Clifford helps identify where my child’s pain points and works on it. It is clear that my daughter literacy skills have developed under Mrs Clifford’s care. It’s great to see how visible and confident my child carry forward particularly on her writing. Personally, I would like to find a qualified teacher with strong school experience in my child’s age group and older children too who could encourage her to develop her skills and build hers/mine confidence further. Mrs Clifford has very calm relaxing voice, it is always so pleasant to see her and she is definitely the right teacher for us.
