Advert description
Hey, I'm a young and confident physics and philosophy student studying his final year at the University of Bristol. I am currently on track for a first class honours and am proud to say that I have achieved a first in all of my university maths modules! I enjoy meeting new people and and explaining to others concepts I myself find interesting, especially regarding my degree!
I frequently interact with young adults in a calm and resolute manner, being the tutor of numerous family friends and also my brother (annoyingly). My experience goes back to 2018, starting as a tutoring assistant responsible for overseeing groups of 3 to 6 children up to the age of 13, all studying Maths and English. I now teach students studying for their GCSEs, but am more than capable of teaching A Level students too when it comes to Maths and Physics.
My teaching style varies student to student, but I find the use of analogies, often visual, helpful when explaining concepts. The primary objective of my lessons is to instil a fundamental grasp of the concepts at work in my student, as a good understanding is what helps the most when approaching the most difficult questions that pop up in exam settings. Once I have explained the particular topic, I go through a few example questions, often from past papers, engaging with the student as I do so. I then set a new set of questions as homework for the student to complete before our next session. Homework is reviewed at the beginning of every session. I always encourage questions as this is the easiest route to a comprehensive understanding; I do a degree in philosophy so don't worry, I love dealing with questions! I always make sure to praise my students when they do well, and constantly motivate them to improve; I know too well that hard work ought to be appreciated :).
One final note: I am both patient and understanding, and always respect my clients, but I will not tolerate a bad attitude and expect the respect to be mutual. That being said, all my experiences with clients have been positive and I look to keep this track record.
