Experienced English Tutor with a Passion for Education

As a teacher, I believe in fostering an environment that encourages and develops a belief in a growth mindset among my pupils. My pedagogy is built on an ideology of improvement through determination and relatedness. I am a hardworking and committed teacher with a passion for education. I am particularly proud of my work with students who contend with social and educational needs, as I strongly believe in education as a means to break down barriers.

I have experience teaching English, Maths, and Verbal Reasoning Skills as well as Humanities, Music, and PSHE at KS3 at an SEMH school. I also have experience teaching History, Music, Drama, Art, English and PSHE at KS3 and KS4 in mainstream education with experience teaching with OCR, EdExcel, and RSL Exam boards.

My educational background includes a Master's Degree in Musicology, a Bachelor's Degree in Arts - Music and History, and a Professional Diploma in Education. I also hold a Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) and certifications in curriculum middle leadership, classroom management, behavior management, and safeguarding and welfare.

As your English tutor, I aim to provide engaging and informative lessons that will help students achieve their academic goals. My lessons are designed to be interactive, with a focus on building students' skills in reading, writing, and critical thinking. I believe that communication and collaboration are key to successful learning, and I am dedicated to building a strong student-teacher relationship.
