English Literature and Language tutor with three years experience

I am a friendly and kind tutor, who has worked with both introverted and extroverted students. I can offer additional support for students who experience exam freeze or stress.


I have tutored privately for three years, taking on 15-20 GCSE students per year.

I have specific experience in teaching Shakespearean texts, having Macbeth, Romeo & Juliet, King Lear and three other plays fully annotated. Lessons will aim to build strong exam techniques and also, strengthen a students ability to recall quotes and complex themes.

My expertise in Shakespearean texts allows me to help those below the pass mark but also help students achieving a grade 6+ to reach a grade 7+. This is achieved through exposing students to higher A-Level concepts.

I have a strong passion for Poetry. Each student, studying a poetry anthology will receive in depth analysis of each poem as well as planned model answers. Further support can be offered for a variety of other Literature texts at GCSE and A-Level standard (Inspector Calls, Death of a Salesman, Jekyll and Hyde, etc)

In English Language I mostly work with students who are below the pass mark or those have are resitting there exams. I have a 100% pass rate after 6 lessons (on average). I aim to expose students to a variety of linguistic and structural ideas in language to equip them to draw upon wider knowledge during the exam. I believe in all my students and I love to see them succeed!

Each lesson is unique, however nearly all lessons come with a booklet, homework, revision sheet. Homework will be marked at returned within 72 hours.
