English Literature & Creative Writing tutoring for children of all ages

My name is Dr. Helen Calcutt and I am a published author, poet, and writer based in Birmingham. A qualified Creative Practitioner, and BA (Hons) graduate of Creative & Professional Writing, I have over a decade's experinence working with children, young adults, and adults helping them refine and develop both their literary, and creative writing skills. I create a nourishing and safe environment in which all students can grow in confidence, and learn to enjoy writing, as well as establish the skills they need.

I have worked for Writing West Midlands, Writing East Midlands, N.A.W.E. Poetry International, The Poetry Society, The Poetry School, Birmingham University, Loughborough University, BCU, and many others. I was awarded an honorary Doctor of Letters in December 2023 from Loughborough University for my commitment to work in Creative Writing and Social Inclusivity.
