I am very aware of who I am teaching. I can tailor my lesson to the ability of the student so the student gets the most benefit

I will always conduct some preliminary checks. Algebra is where I would start if I had no curriculum. This would give a good indication of where the student is at. I would then use a mix of me doing some examples and the student doing examples with a watchful eye from me to teach
