Frank Flanagan

I have just completed my PhD in applied mathematics at UL. Before that I did my undergraduate at UL in maths as well. In my Leaving Certificate I achieved 625 points, and I always had a passion for maths/applied maths.

The way I run my lessons is by tailoring to each student. I have taught at school and college levels over a wide variety of subjects, so I have taught students at all levels of abilities. I would usually start by checking a student’s algebra, to make sure they have a solid foundation in that. After that, the topic can be discussed with the student. I generally try to do some examples myself at the beginning of the lesson, guided by the student, and then hand over to the student so that they can take the reins.
