I have been a teacher right from my Secondary school days and have been an academic magnet. I have been able to train my two children to pass their 11+ at the primary school level, and my daughter is presently getting ready for her GCSE in 2023. I count myself a success at the micro level as well as the macro level. I presently lecture at levels 4-7, but I adopt the student-led teaching philosophy.
I have always embraced a teaching philosophy that establishes smart interactions between the different players within the education sector. My thinking stretches the established and conventional approach of the teachers just teaching and the students just receiving and places more emphasis on effective balancing between teaching and learning. The performance indices for this approach can be adjudged from the level of dispatch of lectures, the display of affection in class, and the degree of optimism from the lecturers. However, there must be a compromise between subject matter and inducement from the perspectives of the students. With this balance, my teaching philosophy combines the experience of students in a classroom (or online) lectures, the subject matter, and the performance show of the teacher. The integration of these three can facilitate students’ comfort and teachers’ career growth. Since the world revolves, I am required to reflect as a teaching professional.
