Specialisation in CCEA A level, History and Politics
Advert description
I am a experienced teacher of 34 yrs, former Head of History in one of NI's best grammar schools. I was also a college lecturer teaching History ages 16+ of mixed ability but am now retired. My students say I am a 'legend'. I am a caring professional with a good sense of humour but firmly focused on supporting my students academically but also to grow personally in confidence and maturity. Home is near BALLYMENA / RANDALSTOWN just off the M2. I am an experienced tutor of GCSE, AS, A2 level and Access level History but my focus is A level. My main subject which is History with Politics and i have taught in Secondary, Grammar and Further Education sectors. I taught both the NI CCEA specificationshave but also taught other exam boards. My resources are first class, regularly updated. I have marked for CCEA in the past three years and been recognised by CCEA for that work. My Results are well above the NI grammar average every year at GCSE/AS + A2 levels One to one tuition is so much better than Easter Revision classes in large groups with a lack of individual attention.Whether I am working with high flyers to ensure top grades or with those who maybe struggle, my goal is to ensure grade improvement using a variety of teaching techniques and resources but also to build your confidence and self esteem so you are ready for the challenges ahead. Whatever aspect of the course you feel the need to study I will help you realise your potential. Practice makes perfect thus there will be a strong emphasis on teaching / explanation but also working on and completing past paper questions as the right TECHNIQUE is critical. All questions will be marked and feedback for improvement given. I am also realistic enough to know that you have school/college commitments which tuition should compliment not replace thus I will adopt a common sense approach regarding assessment, your time commitment and effort. I believe the more you put in the greater the reward will be so you have to commit. Finally, support from home is essential if success is to be achieved and I can assist parents/guardians on how they can support you. Please note: I ask two things - 1. Commitment 2. my materials are not shared.
