I am a native English teacher with with 30 years+ experience

Advert description
I have the relevant qualifications to teach English as a Foreign Language and English for Academic Purposes (CELTA and Delta). I have also undertaken a course with the Open University in designing online learning, which I passed with Merit.

I am approachable and empathetic, and my lessons are student - centred. I work well with students of all ages and am passionate about language and teaching. I speak fluent Spanish and had a conversational level of Thai. I have also studied French, German and a little Hindi.

My interests include travel, reading and theatre. In addition I have studied Hypnotherapy and Counselling and I am currently studying Coaching and Mentoring. As regards sporting activities, I practice Tai Chi and attend Aquafit classes. I love walking, especially in the mountains and near water. Although I do not have pets, I am a dog sitter, so I often take dogs for long walks.

Other interests include equality and diversity and mental health. I am a trained Mental Health First Aider and have completed courses in Understanding Autism, Suicide Prevention and Understanding ADHD. I work ina UK university in two roles: one- to - one learning support and as a Disability and Inclusion Support Officer. In addition, I am training to be a Mental Health Champion in order to support colleagues and am involved in fostering a student led support group for those with eating disorders.

To conclude, I am an experienced educator with a passion for supporting others in both their learning and their well - being.

Margaret was a fantastic English tutor for me in 2014. Her lessons on grammar were incredibly helpful and really improved my writing skills. She also taught me how to express myself more clearly and effectively in English. I felt supported and encouraged throughout our time together, and her teaching made a big difference in my confidence and abilities, which also contributed to my career growth. I highly recommend Margaret to anyone looking to improve their English.

A very dedicated, approachable and friendly tutor, committed to her students and helping them get the most out of classes. Her classes are fun and interesting. Margaret works hard to develop her own teaching skills and knowledge even further in order to help her students. Highly recommended.

I've known Margaret for over 20 years and initially worked together in a school. I'd highly recommend her as a tutor, she's very conscientious and easy to get along with, as well as having a great sense of humour.
