Before commencing lessons, I conduct a needs assessment and, in partnership with the student, I then prepare a syllabus to meet their requirements.

My lessons are flexible/student-centred. I have a sound knowledge of grammar and am extremely experienced in lesson planning. My lessons are thoroughly prepared, but nevertheless, I respond to the student's needs and am willing to adapt in real time and respond to questions/needs that arise.

I have ample experience of preparing students for examinations, particularly the Cambridge First Certificate, Advanced and Proficiency examinations and IELTS. In addition, I was an examiner for the Cambridge Starters, Movers and Flyers examinations for Young Learners.

Students find me approachable and empathetic and often comment on my passion for my work. I am able to build rapport quickly with students of all ages and levels. You will find me trustworthy and reliable with a keen desire to enable you to excel in your language learning goals.

Finally, I am widely travelled and interested in many topics and cultures, which, along with my extensive teaching experience, facilitates conversation and connection.
