Advert description
Whatever your level of experience with the English language, I am interested in hearing from you. I love teaching and would be excited to help you create various routes to increase your understanding and fluency. I would thoroughly enjoy helping you gain in confidence and achieve your goals. My lessons would be all about you, how you learn, and what you want from learning English.
I am a native English speaker with a passion for the language. Consequently I took my first degree in English Literature. I have a qualification to teach English from Cambridge University, and hold a Masters degree with distinction. I am currently a doctoral student in the English Department of the University of Warwick. I have years of experience in teaching, from pre-school learners to post-graduate students. I have also worked in non-compulsory education and in non-traditional settings. I have lived across Europe and North America and have taught English as a foreign language.
Before training to teach, I worked extensively in the Media, in both television and radio for the Independent Sector and for the BBC. I am also a published author and playwright as well as an experienced editor. I am consequently very confident in preparing written work (including dissertations or articles) for publication. At present I am a part-time teacher on the Creative Learning Team at a large Arts Centre.
I am a fluent second language speaker of Welsh, so know what it is like to learn to communicate in language not my own.
