I base my tuition on the National Curriculum to ensure children are accessing the necessary information with as much adaptation as needed from myself. I also love to bring as much enjoyment out of my tutoring to support my students’ belief in the fun of learning! I aim to do this by celebrating their successes and supporting them through their mistakes which are vital to learning. I start my lessons by recapping previous learning, before moving onto the main learning at hand and ending with a consolidation task. This all ensures a solid understanding. I do this using visual aids and thoroughly checking for understanding along the way. Children will be supported through my pedagogical skills and adaptive approach to learning. After teaching classes of 30+, I’m more than happy and excited about having more personalised learning opportunities. I have experience as a teaching assistant as well as having completed my PGCE Primary. Therefore I know the value of building relationships in order to build on learning experiences. I hosted 1:1 interventions as a TA and have worked extensively to support children and push them in their learning over the past three years and hope to continue doing so through tuition. I have also tutored multiple children in KS3 which taught me a lot about structuring individualised lessons across a series of weeks/months. I have planned and executed maths lessons based on multiple schemes during my course and am able to adapt happily and accordingly across a multitude of needs.
