I have experience teaching in a classroom and an online setting. My lessons are always fun, interactive with plenty of activities for students to practice the content of the lesson. I always start my lessons with a quick 5 minute catch up with the students and ask them to tell me 3 positive things which happened to them during the week. Then I start the lesson about the topic the student has asked me to focus on by doing a warm up activity to get them thinking about the topic. We then go through the information surrounding the topic in a student lead format. I will always try and elicit the answer from the student rather then just tell them what they need to know. After we have gone through all of the important information about the topic I am teaching, we learn how to put it all together to answer exam questions. We always focus on a the six or nine mark questions and follow a set format which is easy to remember. After the student or students are clear on how to tackle the question and they have enough knowledge to answer it then I let them answer some exam questions which we then go through together.
Every student is different in terms if there learning style, what they want to focus on and the way they like to write. Therefor I always try to create an open and relaxed atmosphere so the students are comfortable with telling me what they want to focus on and what methods work best for them. I will always encourage students and do my best to build there confidence so they believe in themselves going forward.
Additionally, I always offer a free trial lesson for the students to introduce themselves and see if my teaching style works for them
