I have worked with pupils over the past 27 years and can aid engagement with maths in a positive way, looking for and identifying patterns and links that help to unlock the mysteries of maths. Using a range of activities - problems, games and practical examples - together we can identify what is needed to help you see maths in a whole new, enthusiastic way. I have a calm and methodical approach to teaching but am adaptable to ensure that there is clear understanding about what we are learning about. Whether it's about numbers or shapes, I can help pupils explore and understand mathematics and recognise there are more ways to view and approach those seemingly tricky maths concepts. I look forward to you asking those maths questions you always wanted answered! I help pupils to focus on their mindset and creative ways of approaching and undertaking problems as well as linking their mathematical understanding to other areas to give it meaning and purpose because, although maths can be a fun subject on its own, it is also a really key part of understanding for other learning and we can all do with finding the joy in maths to make it all that much easier! I have a degree in teaching with a maths specialism, but also have a post graduate certificate in the co-ordination of special needs which has enabled me to be an effective SENCo for several years as well as developing my practice further to incorporate the needs of a wider range of pupils. Whether you are looking for someone to consolidate your understanding or to introduce maths topics to you in a new and engaging way, I am here to offer my time and expertise to support you on your maths journey!
