I teach online and my approach is fairly casual. I like to get to know your strengths but also what your fears might be about learning a new language. It's important to me that we both enjoy the lessons because in my experience this is the dynamic that produces the best results. I'll offer you a 15 minute consultation as a new student and this is when you can tell me what your goal is with the lessons. If you decide to move forward with me as your tutor (and I hope you do!) I will give you an assessment in our first lesson together so I can work out what you need to achieve your goals and how I can deliver that to you in the time we have available to us. After this, our lessons will be a mixture of different exercises that will include reading and writing practice some of which you may have to do alone at home and speaking and listening exercises where I might use some of your favourite songs or even articles from your preferred business news source, whatever you relate to best. Throughout the lessons I'll keep monitoring your progress and giving you feedback so we both know what we need to do more work on and where you're smashing your goals! This is not a one way street and you'll always have the opportunity to let me know how you feel about my teaching and your learning experience. My lessons generally consist of one strategically structured hour with a clear pre-set objective that I strive to make as meaningful and productive as possible with the end game always being for you to communicate effectively in English with some confidence. It is achievable when we work together, so let's get to work!
