Experienced and friendly teacher of English for foreign learners

I have taught EFL (learners whose first language is not English) for 30 years, including in the Czech Republic and Spain. I am a flexible, creative and experienced teacher for learners from beginner to upper-intermediate levels, with twenty two years experience teaching IELTS. I have taught online since lockdown both for the private school where I teach and for individual students. I am good at drawing out quieter students but can also engage with more dynamic characters. I can help you for a shorter period with just one aspect of language learning, for example, pronunciation or essay writing, or help you in exam preparation for IELTS. Having taught students from many differnt countries, I have an understanding of language interference when learning the English language and can help you address that in both pronunciation and grammar. I have a quirky sense of humour which I use to inspire and refresh my students and I am a kind and patient teacher. I use tried and tested methods in EFL as well as more creative techniques, such as solving a crime in English, or learning how to improve your speaking through poetry and drama.
