My name is Virginia Almendra Figueroa. I am 32 years old, and I am from Córdoba, Argentina.
Regarding my academic background, I hold two bachelor's degrees from the National University of Córdoba. I am a literary proofreader (2020) and a professor of modern literature (2023). My specialization is Spanish linguistics and literature. Furthermore, I also have pedagogical knowledge about teaching language and literature.
In my field of knowledge, which includes linguistics, proofreading, and writing, I have held various roles. I have worked as a copywriter and creative writer for social media accounts on Instagram and Facebook, where I learned how to communicate effectively through these platforms and create texts that are accurate, efficient, and compelling.
Regarding my work experience based on my degree as a literary proofreader, I have worked as a literary proofreader ad honorem for two different academic journals at the National University of Córdoba (one of them is the journal Heterocronías, from the Chair B of the Epistemology course in the Psychology program; the other is the journal Etcétera, from the Research Center of the Faculty of Philosophy and Humanities). There, I strengthened my skills in reviewing, proofreading, and editing academic and essayistic texts.
Afterward, I worked as a freelance literary proofreader, correcting and editing texts such as books, theses, essays, monographs, and opinion articles.
I have worked in the publishing and book industries for several years. I have worked for two well-known publishing houses (one based in Córdoba and the other in Buenos Aires, Argentina). In this position, I have performed tasks such as reading and evaluating digital manuscripts and proofreading, reviewing, and editing texts in Word and PDF formats.
