About me

“This is not text books; this is not theory. It’s the real thing”
The master classes are an introduction to the everyday workings of being in the film industry. Delivering the practical side of how it actually works in reality. With over fifty years of experience working in film I want to pass on the knowledge and work ethic of actual film making.

The master classes are an introduction to the everyday workings of being in the film industry. Delivering the practical side of how it actually works in reality. With over fifty years of experience working in film I want to pass on the knowledge and work ethic of actual film making.

At the age of 16 I entered the film industry as a set runner and worked my way up through the grades. Working a lot with Ridley Scott Associates in the late 1970’s Tony Scott gave me my first break as a 1st Assistant Director. In 1990 I joined the “Directors Guild of America” and moved to Los Angeles for five years, becoming one of a handful of AD’s that can work in the USA as well as in Europe. I have worked with many iconic Directors through the years; Terence Donovan, Brian Duffy, Roger Woodburn, Peter Webb, Nick Lewin, Willi Patterson, Hugh Johnson, Maurice Philips, Jake Scott, Luke Scott and of recent Paris Barclay and Floria Sigismondi.
I continue to work worldwide and in America, with a lot of experience filming globally on many different types of productions including DGA shoots.
Hold: UK, USA and Irish Passports.
