The first thing I look for is the level of each person/group understanding on basic chemistry. I prefer an interactive session where you can communicate what you will expect for each class and give me a feedback on each topic for me to see where we are together and where we supposed to be.
I have taught different classes of people ranging from people that hate chemistry, people that talk about how volatile the subject is to people that do not have a good background grasping the foundational knowledge of Chemistry
