I have 21 years of teaching experience, degree in classical guitar performance from university and concert diploma from European conservatoire. I teach classical, acoustic and electric guitar, following RGT, Trinity College and Rock School systems for exams but always ready to tailor the lessons to the students needs, strengths and weaknesses.
As a session/touring professional musician and producer I have a good insight into what one needs in the music industry, being it improvisation and general understanding of music theory, songwriting or any other from the useful practical skills.
But first and foremost, the lessons must be fun. There is no point in trying to learn the instrument when you have no joy coming from it. Every technical exercise is straight to the point to be used in the actual music, to bring immediate sense of improvement, and in the alignment for what is natural for the hands and fingers so you always feel relaxed and comfortable.
Unless preparing for a specific exam I listen very carefully to what style of music/particular artists the student likes and adapt the choice of repertoire as close as possible to the direction they wish to go. The joy on the face of the student who realises they can sound exactly as they dreamt is always worth the extra work.
Please get in touch if you have any other questions or insecurities that might have been holding you back. Every single obstacle can be overcome with the correct sensitive approach and life with music is so beautiful, so fulfilling and so within the reach of everyone.
