I’ve studied psychology for 5 years, both at A-Level (grade A) as well as at degree-level (predicted a 2:1)… I even completed an extended project qualification on the nature nurture debate! (grade A).
I have always been passionate about psychology, and my goal through teaching is to spread this passion. Whatever difficulties students may face, regarding research methods, theories, models etc… I can offer guidance and advice to break these down.
For the initial session, I’d like to gauge what the students worries or concerns are, and make a list of goals which will be achieved throughout our sessions. I am incredibly adaptable, and my teaching styles vary greatly depending on what works well for the student. If they learn well visually, we can create mind maps for example, and so on and so forth.
I want to make learning fun… some topics such as research methods or the approaches to psychology for example, are incredibly frustrating and complex for some. By making teaching fun, any topics disliked by a student, will soon be loved! Attempting to tackle these harder topics from different perspectives and in a more engaging fun way, can completely shift an opinion and therefore learning!
Furthermore, I can offer advice to those who may be worried about university, providing general advice or even guidance regarding personal statements and interviews. I was once a nervous student who needed a boost of confidence to achieve her goals - and I want to offer that support and motivate those to achieve their goals.
I hope to meet some of you soon :) happy learning!
