I have some experiences teaching online and I am working as an English teacher in an institute in Iran.
If I want to talk about my teaching methods and techniques, I'd like to say, I believe the students should be more active than the teacher. Teacher should be like a guid not like old teachers to just tell the information and give students some home work and bye bye until next time; Absolutely this is not going to be a good way for them to learn a new language, It's even the worst. The student should be challenged to find out she/he needs those information so becomes curious about it and that is my portal in their mind to teach them and make them learn deeply.
The content and resources for my teahing classes are defenitely depend on the student's needs and purposes. For example, if my student is an employee and she/he needs to know more about her/his work place's expressions and conversations, so I focus on those that the student needs. I don't want to waste the student's time on what they will never use ever in their life.
