My experience as a tutor began as a private and small group TEFL teacher where I would help people improve their english language skills. I worked as a tutor both in Spain and in Ireland. My teaching style is largely collaborative. i will be asking you to engage with and challenge the material I am tutoring you in. I want to help you not only understand the material but also develop your critical thinking and reasoning, a skill that you will use throughout your life. I will do this by covering material, giving thought provoking tasks, quizzes, research suggestions etc. I believe in learning by doing so my sessions will be interactive, not lecture style. I believe this is a much more beneficial way of learning and will help you more in the future than traditional the traditional explaination-question-response style of teaching.
I will challenge you and ask for your thoughts, views and opinions. We will have thought provoking and interesting discussions while also trying to have fun while learning.
I personally try and create a safe , welcoming and open atmosphere with my students and like to tutor and help in a way that works for them. therefore, I will always endevour to be approachable and friendly in all my work and will always be happy to answer questions. There is no such things as silly questions!
