1. Confident Mandarin reader, speaker, and writer – Although I did not continue pursuing an A-Level in Mandarin and achieved a grade 9 in GCSE Mandarin, I am a confident, fluent speaker as I have served customers in my part-time job at a fast-food restaurant in Mandarin, and capable of writing as I spend some of my free time reading news and books, watching shows, dramas, and documentaries, and talking in Mandarin, and a fast learner in picking up new vocabulary and understanding its use based on context.

2. Teaching experience – During my part-time job at a fast-food restaurant, my role also involved teaching new colleagues how the system works and making and managing food and drinks. Through volunteering at a summer school with young children and leading dance sessions, I explored different ways of explaining concepts to make young children understand better. I have also worked with teenagers by leading a session about empowering women and building a positive mindset through creating group activities with my team members. Looking to transfer these skills when teaching Mandarin.

3. Excellent use of technology – Competent in using Microsoft Teams and Zooms by arranging business meetings during the Student Consultancy Project.
