My lessons are clear and direct- we develop our vocabulary and practice exam-style questions. Classes have an appropriate level of relaxation but also ensure that students become increasingly accustomed to pressure.

I'm naturally used to teaching groups of 4-8, so teaching one-on-one would be significantly easier for me and would also provide comfort to the student being taught.

I provide hand-made materials and resources to students that can directly improve the articulation of their writings skills as well as their general performance in exams.

The content covered in my classes are predominantly of the GCSE English curriculum. I can provide assistance and instruction for English Literature, although I like to focus more on English Language as it is an area that schools lack solid teaching methods in as compared to that of Literature.

Another, more enjoyable, subject that I emphasise teaching is creative writing; I strive for students to expand their vocabulary, imagination and descriptive capabilities. Classes usually involve a short creative writing exercise in the beginning as a cognitive and intellectual warm-up; we do short descriptive stories on a particular subject or practice sensory engagement (the 5 senses).

Unlike some tutors, I believe in being fundamentally honest in regards to the performance of students and potential outcomes in their future exams; it is important that they, and their parents/guardians, are not kept in the dark about the state of the student's learning so that they can prepare accordingly for the better.

My name is Sharfan and I have been a private tutor since 2020 and a center-based tutor from Within the year, in which I worked at Excel Tutors, I have taught over 100 students and have gathered experience in the teaching field; I would be delighted to teach any future students on this platform and hope to be able to change the trajectory of their lives for the better.
