I am a flexible Tutor. I offer online lessons and I will consider what will work around your schedule.
I would, first of all, establish your goals and current skill level. I would then look to design lessons based on your learning style. Some people prefer to learn via tests, some people prefer audio. I personally feel that visual and practical lessons are the most effective way of learning.
I can walk you through everyday interactions, such as going to the store, chatting with friends or work place conversations. I can present the situations, pose scenarios; listen to your responses and offer constructive criticism and pointers.
I can also help you to understand local idioms that come up conversationally.
Have you been called 'bonney'?
Have you been told an item is located up the 'apple and pears'?
Have you wondered what is 'darn tarn'?
I can act as your 'ask a local' to help you navigate these unfamiliar terms.
I have no formal training as a tutor. I have a B GCSE in English from school. I am probably not the right tutor for you if you are working towards a degree. However, if you are just looking for assistance with day-to-day English, I could be a good fit. I do a similar thing for a friend who moved to England from Honduras. She comes to me for advice on her phrasing and terminology. Maybe I could do the same for you?
