The lesson starts off with provoking student thought by asking them to explain or put forward a reason why certain phenomenon is observed. This questioning can take the form of concept-cartoons, multiple choice questions or a thought-provoking video/demonstration and is designed to relay the “Big idea”. During further probing and asking of more deeper questions, connections to previous concepts are made and the new concept is further consolidated. Numerical models are then built and scientific terminology is incorporated. Exam questions are then attempted where I model my thinking whilst also ensuring the student gets ample exposure to exam questions testing their understanding of that particular concept. Light Humour is also a big part of the lessons ensuring that we also have fun whilst learning. Outside of lessons, further opportunities learning are given through assigned homework.
