I like to tailor lessons to the students to initially find out what they would like to gain from the tutoring sessions often through an initial appointment (free of charge). I try to explain abstract concepts in a way that is digestible and easy to understand often through the use of examples so that students can understand areas being applied to the real world.

I can assist with the structure of essays and help assist with upcoming assessments and assignments by breaking down the question and pre-planning responses step by step. I can also explain concepts that students may be struggling with and assist by signposting to useful websites either for further understanding or to use as a reference in their work.

I have experience in using Harvard and APA referencing and have helped students in the past learn referencing and citation skills.

In the past I have also created content for students to illustrate topic areas through Powerpoint presentations, and notes in Word documents specific to the area they are learning.

My main area of expertise is Psychology as I have studied this at SQA Higher and in my HND Social Science degree alongside other subjects (sociology, criminology, politics, and history).

I can be flexible in teaching and try to be specific to the student as I understand everyone has a different way of learning things so I aim to help as much as possible to make things accessible.

I have completed other subjects at National 5 and Higher and would be willing to discuss this further on an individual basis if this is of interest.
