I have been tutoring for over 4 years. Over 200 Students.
I have more experience with low-achieving students than I do with high-achieving ones.
I teach in an interactive way. There are questions asked all throughout the lesson, allowing me to see the exact point the student has lost focus and no longer understands the topic.
This gives the shy students opportunities to voice their concerns and ask for clarifications, and the more confident students reassurance that they are following along.
I teach by topics, so a topic will be taught then the student will be quizzed, homework is set, and at the start of the next lesson questions are asked from the previous session before moving towards with the next topic. Failure in this small quiz results in a quick revision session.
At the end of 4 weeks, a small test is held of all the topics we have covered previously. Progress is primarily monitored through these tests, however oral tests are done at random times to ensure they are always prepared.
