Whilst I believe that revision is key for learning your topics, I like to take on a more practical approach. I believe that putting your knowledge to practice by conversations, answering mock-questions, analysing readings/ excerpts and similar methods can further develop your skillset and is also key to building up your confidence in learning.
With this in mind, I also like to try and make learning more engaging and fun, it creates a passion for the topic and with more interest it often leads to more successful results as opposed to a more forceful and boring approach. To do this, we'll look at what you want to learn and how you enjoy learning, whether it's through written or verbal methods for example. We'll then work on building a timeline to achieve your personal goals and create lesson plans that keep you engaged and allow you to develop and grow in the particular topic!
Whilst we can build your confidence and knowledge in the topic together, however, it's always important to practice outside session time. I do hand out work to do outside of sessions so I can look over it and see where you are struggling/ striving and to assess what areas to work on or to move on to next. Any work given outside of the session is reflective on how much time you want to put in, those who have more free time will likely have more work compared to those who don't have as much. I believe it's always important to create an easy balanced workload!
