I have around 2 years of piano teaching experience mainly with young children from ages around 5-10. I have been playing the piano for around 13 years, getting a Merit in my Grade 8 piano in the process, and have loved every part of it and I want to inspire others to have this same experience. From this I like to centre my lessons around keeping my students engaged through games and having fun. I like to start out my lessons with a short game involving teaching the different keys of the piano, followed by helping to learn a specific song or scale. I then like to finish the lesson with what the student enjoys the most, usually either musical detectives or some piano theory. I usually use piano theory books and also specific piano books to help structure my lessons, they include fun games and songs that increase in difficulty as you progress through the book. As my lessons will be online, I will have a keyboard that helps to show my students how to play something, or to show a specific key. I will also have a copy of the books that the students are using so I can follow along with my student as they learn. I am happy to use any calling platform that works best for you! My lessons are around 30-45 minutes long, depending on the age of the student, but I am flexible to whatever you feel is the right amount of time for you!
