Hi everyone! My name is Rachel, and I am currently studying law in London. Prior to this, I studied pre-law and took 2 years of a Bachelor of Arts degree which included modules in language, politics, history, philosophy, economics, sociology, and literature in addition to law topics. This led me to gain proficiency in academic writing, and a passion both for writing and English Literature.
In addition to these academic qualifications, I also worked as a camp counsellor, babysitter, and au pair for many years. During this time, I organised activities for a wide age range of children and assisted with homework help. I found that the best system for encouraging academic success was to first develop an understanding of each individual's learning style. I would do this by incorporating visual learning methods such as sharing videos or drawing diagrams or flow charts, audio learning methods like reading the problem or explaining the steps aloud, hands-on learning methods such as constructing problem questions to attempt, etc. Once I gauged which learning method best worked, I would focus on using that method in my teaching. This is the same structure with which I approach tutoring.
