Qualified Teacher SEND Autism ADHD Experienced

I am a qualified teacher with multiple specialisms and a master's degree in Education. I have experience teaching adult learners and students 14 years+ I have taught young people with a wide variety of additional needs and difficulties and can coach exam strategies. I have previously mentored learners with anxiety who are very reactive to stress and have taught coping strategies that help in education but also in everyday life. Through a variety of techniques such as short activities and mixed teaching methods, I structure sessions that keep the learner engaged and interested. I very much tailor my tutoring to the individual and keep the teaching centred around their needs. This is not one size fits all like in larger classes in school. The areas of focus are entirely guided by the student and their learning styles and preferences are the priority. I have experience teaching the national curriculum at a post-compulsory level, and I can plan the lessons closely linked to the specifications set by the exam boards. I am very person-centred, and learning should not be a chore, it should be a positive experience which I will strive to ensure the learner will receive. Students with special needs have more barriers to success, but I firmly believe with the right support and a growth mindset they can achieve their goals. I have personal experience with special needs through family and understand complex conditions and living with their challenges. I primarily teach maths functional skills, foundation maths, business, and psychology.
