I have been teaching my own university classes since 2000 at various types of tertiary institutions and in various countries. I rely on dynamic conversations about technical, popular, and scientific topics. Writing practice and feedback to best communicate your image. The goal is to not get you hooked on tutoring but. instead, to support you to the point when you are independent and confident enough to do the work on your own. Tutors cannot hold your hands forever, so instead the model I will adopt is one where we start slowly, doing things together with more direction from me and over time, I will back off and you will step up. Teaching someone how to learn, how to make statistical choices, how to find information, and how to write are skills that develop slowly over time but once achieved you will have something precious that will be useful for the rest of your life and far beyond your school work. Critical thinking is an overused term but an essential skill to develop. It has less to do with your opinions about something and more about how those opinions are formed and how to make sense of and even argue with other people's opinions or ideas. This is all a long way of saying that studying with me will allow you to become a scientist in life and by profession. That science will be based on clarity of thought, a focus on data and logic, and an eye for BS, fallacies, and conspiratorial thinking that are common these days.

It's been for sure the best I've had so far in my journey through academia. I've learned a lot by working with him on a project by dissecting it in various components and trying to improve on them. He motivated me more than any other professor could've in my whole institution. I'm very grateful to have been able to learn from him. All in all, for people interested in doing ACTUAL academic work and getting hands on experience: (while of course dedicating time and effort to the work) you'll find few people that could hold his standard and availability for his students.

Best tutor and teacher. In class he is well prepared, motivated, and flexible. And funny. You can bring up ideas and discussions related to the course. As a tutor (I.e., for thesis) you received structure, engagement, and way more input than on average. You need to provide your part, and then have the best possible results. He is open for other ideas, opinions, and always listens to your point of view. He also helps you improving your presentations. Last, his dog is great. Join his class!
