I would assess where the student or individual is at and what they hope to gain from tutoring and which areas they would like to work on.

With work on performance/drama we can dive into analysis of a scene or monologue and then find the truth of performance through various exercises. This might mean using improvisation to free up the imagination and break blocks to creativity but in a safe contained way. You can’t make mistakes! We can choose texts that challenge and inspire, from past or present.

We can also work on speaking presentation for anyone wishing to work on their confidence in the workplace or speaking in public. Relaxation, posture and breathing techniques all help.

For literature or reading skills we can approach according to age, range and ability. For small children this will be really about listening and encouraging development of language and correct grammar. For older children or adults, it will be about practice and analysing and working through any blocks or lack of confidence, but in a gradual way suitable to the requirements of the individual.

I am a trained actress and also a professional writer (travel and wellbeing articles) so have real world practical experience of these professions and am happy to coach for drama school audition for any other professional audition.

I will only work at the pace of the student and structure lessons according to aims and goals. Above all though leaning should be fun and it’s absolute not about having to be perfect!
