Hi there! I love English, and I love teaching! I am looking forward to meeting you and helping you on your journey in my beautiful native language.
I have been in education for over 30 years. My main experience is with teaching children, but I am also very happy to tutor adults looking to improve their confidence in speaking and understanding English.
I have an honours degree from the University of Oxford in Classics. I also have Qualified Teacher Status.
In 2018 I qualified as a TEFL teacher with distinction through a 120-hour online course. In 2020 I took further courses in teaching English online.
My lessons are based on conversations on topics which can be of my choosing or the student's choosing. E.g. family, pets, interests, likes and dislikes, culture, discussing a photo or painting or a news item, etc.

I have a clear English accent, and can help you with pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary and fluency. I can also help with reading and writing skills.
My interests include:
travel - the UK, France, Spain and Italy. I recently sang in a choir in Rome - an amazing experience!
music - I play the piano, clarinet, saxophone and recorder, and also teach these instruments
walking, especially hills, mountains and the coast
cycling
sailing
museums, churches and old buildings
cricket and football
Over the years I have taught quite a few subjects! - including Latin, Greek, English, music, French, ICT (computing), maths. Most recently I have taught English as a foreign language face-to-face and online.
