Paige Szalkowski

Hi!
My name is Paige. I’m currently a university student, and I have a vast love of reading and writing; making me very passionate about teaching these skills to the future generation. I have been tutoring English Literature and Language to children and young adults, up to and including GCSE level, for over three years now.
I consider myself to be a very kind person, and this is emphasised in my teaching style. I encourage independent thoughts and practise, even when this leads to mistakes; believing that this is one of the fastest ways that young people learn and grow in confidence. Additionally, I aim to inspire a love of reading and writing, similar to my own, and therefore my lessons are planned to be exciting and interesting for all of my students; hoping to create a group of lifelong learners through English Literature and Language. My lessons will include many different methods of teaching, and every lesson will be something new - teaching the necessary skills and information to prepare students to gain their qualifications while also ensuring they are engaged and interested in their learning. Some of the activities I aim to include in my lessons are: quizzes, games, informal tests, lightening rounds, text analysis - as well as many other things that I am happy to discuss in more detail.
