I like to have an introductory meeting with my clients to introduce myself and for us to set out what you hope you achieve in our sessions together. I am flexible in my approach adopting a holistic focus and multi-modal teaching methods. I can pitch the sessions at the level you are working towards whether that be GCSE, A-level, or undergraduate University studies. Typically a session would involve a review of any homework completed (if any) and an informal check-in (I believe for a session to be productive your wellbeing is the most important factor to consider). Next, we would delve into the content of the week which will be guided by the content being covered within school or key areas of confusion or difficulty. If appropriate sessions would also include activities and videos to enhance understanding, study/revision skills, and past paper questions. At the end of every session, we will reflect on the session and pick out an area of strength and area for development within the next session.
Individuals are welcome to bring along pieces of work they have completed or that have been marked by school/university to go over together. I am also happy to discuss exam tips and offer content beyond the curriculum to extend knowledge. For those completing psychology at the undergraduate level, I am also happy to discuss research, and research skills, as well as go through assignment questions as well as content with you to clarify your understanding.
The dynamics of the sessions will be comfortable and relaxed. I am here to support you and your learning in a way which will be beneficial to you. There are no silly questions!
