A bit about me: I'm currently a 2nd year medical student at the University of Leeds who has a passion for teaching and helping people better themselves. In terms of how I structure my lessons, before each session starts, I ask my students what they're struggling with and would like to go through or what they would like to focus on. This is to ensure that every session is completely tailored around what is important to you to ensure that your needs are always met in each session we have. I like to teach via powerpoints which have questions throughout to test you. But I also integrate parts of the session solely for exam-style questions and how to approach/answer them as I believe an emphasis on this is essential to succeed in every subject. Additionally at the start of sessions I like to do a quick test/re-cap of what we have learnt in the previous one or two sessions as I'm aware of how important it is to integrate active recall into sessions in order to better my students long-term memory and ensure they are truly understand the content they're learning. Regarding my previous experience, I used to be a science tutor for biology, chemistry and physics GCSE. I volunteered at my schools Science society to teach students struggling with these subjects. Since I'm at university my timetable is quite flexible and adaptable so I'm happy to move around times based on what works best for you. Looking forward to teaching you!
