My method is to make math less challenging and to make sense of what is being thought. This is because if something make sense to you, it become easier to relate to and remove many confusions.
My experience as an Open University student which involved a lot of self study, unlike formal classroom, enabled me to develop a different strategies with others known methods of learning mathematics effectively.
My teaching method start with a test to determine knowledge level. If any gap in knowledge is noted, it will be necessarily to go back and relearn some basic topics before moving forward.
I also encourage my students to ask questions as many times as they want. No question is stupid. I see questions as a feedback on how effective my teaching
is.
As stated above my method is to make the learning method unique to the individual, fun and easily digestable in term of numbers of topics covered at a given period.
My lessons are arranged in logical order so that knowledge of past lessons are used for further lessons.
My methods is about confidence building in term of your maths knowledge, identify the gaps and fill them with the needed understanding.
I have experience of home tutoring my 3 grown up children from age 4 to year 13 secondary grammar school.
