Lessons will be interesting and engaging while relating back to history. Often times history can come across boring when taught in basic or uninteresting ways. However, these subjects are what molded what we live in today. To understand how and why people interact the way they do is fascinating. Much of the lessons will consist of a short PowerPoint that will assist student in becoming involve with the subject of discussion. From there the student and I will go over any questions before continuing on with the lesson. I try to correlate modern events to those in history in order to provide a strong connection with the student and things they are living through and seeing in every day life. The “give and take” aspect of teaching and learning is something I personally value highly. The student learns from the teacher and vice versa. The knowledge students have is endless and simply needs to be unlocked when speaking about a subject they are interested in, and in some cases not. Regardless there are questions many hold that can lead them down paths of interest within history. The main goal of these lessons is to inform the student of a subject they need help in. Whether it be a lot or a little, I value their intelligence and understanding as my upmost concern. With enthusiasm and simple yet engaging lesson plans, I truly think the student will thrive and continue to grow with their knowledge of history and even maybe something they were not interested in before.
