For the online lessons, I use a document camera and a whiteboard to make the learning experience as close to in person learning. This allows me to explain methods for questions thoroughly. This also allows me to draw diagrams and graphs with ease and haste. I like to keep it friendly with the student so they feel comfortable throughout the lesson. Talking with the student about common interests is a good way I like to start lessons to keep the students engaged and want to come to the lessons.

In regards to the study plan, if they have no clear goal with what they want from the lessons, I usually test the students on their ability to work out what their strengths and weaknesses are, which then allows me to focus on the topics the student really struggles with. This allows me to really balance the lesson focus dependant on what the student requires allowing the student to make the most of their lesson. For example, if the student struggles with vectors, I would go through the different types of questions they can expect with vectors, and then I would start by explaining the basic concept of vectors, and slowly advance the difficulty of the material. Once I feel the student understands the concept well enough, I would start by going through topic questions. Once the student is confident with the topic, and once we have finished a larger general topic like geometry and measure, I would go through a larger topic paper that tests the student's knowledge in the whole topic paper. Once we go through the whole course, my final stage of tutoring would be to go over past papers to fully drill in the exam technique needed to succeed!
