Hello! I am a South African native speaker with 10 years of formal and informal teaching experience. I have experience teaching a wide variety of classes for different purposes ranging from English for academic purposes to conversation classes. I have also taught children ranging from age three to seventeen both off- and online.
My methodology will depend on the needs of the students, but for conversation classes and young learners I follow the WPPPW (warm-up, presentation, practice, production, and wrap-up) method in which the students play language games about topics that are of interest to the students. For older students, I mainly prepare grammar points and topics based on the interests of my students.

For English exams or tests, I usually start by giving a student a practice test to see in which areas they need the most help and practice and we go from there. English for professional or academic purposes is more structured around creating presentations and subject specific language.

I like to leave corrections for the end of the lesson and, rather than correct all the errors at once, I focus on one or two grammar points and correct those. Students get feedback at the end of every lesson in written /verbal form, depending on their needs.

Most importantly, I can tailor your English lessons to your specific needs, while also incorporating your interests. You are in charge of what you learn.
