I’m a graduate in Psychology, my expertise is within research methods in psychology, forensic psychology, developmental psychology, industrial and organisational psychology, consumer psychology and positive psychology. I have a certification in child psychology and stress management.
For our lessons, I would initially go over what you know already and your perspective about the respective field, then we would move towards a chapter wise approach, from the history to the present like how was the field at the start, why it is important that we study this field as a separate area. For example, how did psychoanalysis came into existence and how it is different from what it was in the early 1920s. We would cover the different subfields as well, like how forensic is linked with social psychology and developmental psychology as well. We will definitely cover case studies for better understanding and I would assign articles for reading as well because psychology is a field that demands the individual’s attention, you need to read to understand what the certain phenomenon consists of.
The lessons will be very interactive because when you talk about history etc it can get boring so I would try my best to make it as interesting as possible. We would definitely rely on videos as well because for cases in forensics individuals are more likely to grasp interest when there are visuals instead of just a boring report on it.
For the research course, I will take you through the basics like the research broken down into smaller components and then how each of it contributes towards the paper. For example how the literature review builds the interest of the reader and why it is important that it stays on track. After studying them at the end of each chapter I would ask you to generate information related to it by using any topic that you’d like. For example, if you were to test the impact of gender roles portrayal on social media and drama industry on individuals, how differently would you approach it from the regular researches.
