I aim delivery lessons that are both beneficial and engaging. I understand the importance of practicing scales, but sometimes I feel as though this can be overstated to the point of boredom and ineffectiveness. The goal of learning a musical instrument is to play music, and I feel the best way to learn an instrument is not to fill your head with scales and exercises, but to actually play music. Exercises are important, but there must be a balanced approach to learning to ensure for the most fun and creativity.
I can offer guitar and bass lessons in various styles, including rock, funk, blues and jazz, and have some minor background in some other styles as well. I can offer music theory education alongside the instrumental teaching, to enhance a student's ears and their understanding of sound, and can offer insight into various techniques and methods that may be used in composing.
Most importantly, I hope that my lessons will be fun for all students, as music should be a passion, not a chore.
