I used to teach in a high school and found the most engaging way to teach is through fun quizzes, like kahoot. I found spending most of the lesson studying the content and ending the session with a fun quiz is a good way to actively recall what you’ve learnt while also having fun. I can provide these quizzes for you to test your knowledge at your own pace, while remembering what you’ve learnt during the lessons. English has always been a passion of mine and take it very seriously, it is a subject that you can really excel in and show your skills when done properly. Most of my sessions will include a 5 minute talk at the start about what we want to focus on today and a recap of what we’ve learnt in the previous session, followed by a read of a text I’ve chosen that’s related to your syllabus. We will then go through this text together highlighting the pieces of information that could be used later on, this then leads to a series of questions where you will have to apply your knowledge and pick out the most suitable quotes/suitable sentences. Lastly I will end the session of with a quiz which we will keep track of all of your sessions to see the improvement in the score and approaching the bits that you may not be scoring so well one. I am also happy to go through mock test papers and check over school work.
